Search and map review, 2026-09-09
Roanoke, Virginia

You are invisible on the map, and it is not because you are new.

Prepared for Jonathan Kelly, GetMaidEasy, 2026-09-09. Everything here comes from live Google results and your own website, read this morning.

Google reviews you have, more than most of the businesses that outrank you

No pitch. This is the review I promised, and that is all it is. There is nothing to buy in this document, no packages, no prices, and no next step that involves hiring anybody. Every finding below has the fix written next to it so you or whoever manages your site can do it yourselves.

The short version

Your Google Business Profile exists, it is claimed, and it has a 5.0 rating from 20 reviews. That is a better review count than 14 of the 20 businesses currently ranking for house cleaning in Roanoke. Despite that, you did not appear in any of the four Roanoke searches I ran.

You did not appear even when I searched from your own map pin. Google filled that list with a tree service, an HVAC contractor and a junk removal company instead. So this is not competition beating you. Something on the profile itself is stopping it. The likely reasons are first below.

Where you show up

All measured 2026-09-09 on live Google results. The last row matters: your profile is findable by name, so it exists and is not deleted. It is category searches it does not enter.

Which version of you is the real one

Google decides whether two listings are the same business largely by whether the name, address and phone number match. Yours do not match each other.

What I found, most costly first

Ten items. The first three are the ones I would do this week.

1

Your Google profile does not appear for cleaning searches, even standing at your own address.

I searched four ways in Roanoke. Your profile came back in none of them. Then I searched from your own map pin, and it still did not appear. A tree service and an HVAC contractor did. Your profile is findable by name, so it exists and it is claimed. It just is not entering the searches that matter.

Roanoke searches
How to fix itOpen Google Business Profile and check three things: that the service areas are actually set, that the primary category is House cleaning service, and that there is no pending verification or suspension notice at the top.
2

Three different phone numbers are published for one business.

Your Google profile and site header say 540-519-5543. Your footer says (804) 490-2134. An Instagram post says (804) 625 6469. Two of those are Richmond area codes on a Roanoke business. Google uses the phone number to work out whether two listings are the same company. Yours keep disagreeing.

3
Phone numbers
How to fix itPick one number. Put exactly that number on the site header, the site footer, the Google profile, Instagram, Nextdoor, Angi, and anywhere else you are listed. Same format every time.
3

Your name and your service area are told four different ways.

The site footer says Roanoke, Lynchburg and Richmond. Nextdoor says Blacksburg, Roanoke and Lynchburg. Angi lists you as MaidEasy in Salem. Your Google pin sits 8.8 miles east of downtown Roanoke with no address shown. Four spellings of the name are in circulation: GetMaidEasy, Get Maid Easy, MaidEasy and Getmaideasy.

4
Versions of you
How to fix itChoose one legal name and one service area list. Correct Angi and Nextdoor to match. Where the name is wrong, most directories let you request an edit.
4

Your homepage takes about 25 seconds to show its main content on a phone.

Google’s mobile test scored the homepage 25 out of 100 for speed, with the main content appearing at 25.7 seconds and the page unusable until 26.4 seconds. I ran it twice and got 42 and then 25, so treat it as a range rather than one exact number. Either way it is far too slow, and almost everyone looking for a cleaner is on a phone.

25.7s
To main content
How to fix itThe cause is on the next chart down: 6.2 MB of page, most of it uncompressed photos. Resize them before upload and this number moves more than anything else you could do.
5

Your headings jump levels, in seven places.

Google's own accessibility check flags seven headings on your homepage that skip a level, for example going from an h2 straight to an h4. Headings are how both a screen reader and a search engine work out what the page is about and which parts belong to which section.

7
Headings out of order
How to fix itHave whoever manages the site walk the page top to bottom and make the headings step down one level at a time. One h1, then h2 for each section, then h3 inside those. Never skip.
6

The page weighs 6.2 megabytes, and one image is a megabyte of it.

Six point two megabytes for a homepage is very heavy. A single uploaded image is 1,067 kilobytes on its own, and four more are between 426 and 529 kilobytes. Google Maps JavaScript adds another 376 kilobytes. That is what produces the 25 second wait above.

6.2MB
Homepage weight
How to fix itResize and compress the photos before uploading them. A full width photo on a phone rarely needs to be more than about 200 kilobytes. This is the single biggest lever on the speed number.
7

Your services page has no real title and no description.

The title Google would show reads Getmaideasy, eleven characters, with no description and no canonical tag. That page has 381 words. A title is the single biggest on page lever you have, and this one is empty.

11
Characters in the title
How to fix itSet the page title to something a buyer would search, for example House Cleaning Services in Roanoke, VA, and write a one sentence description under 160 characters.
8

Your social icons link to nothing.

The Facebook, Instagram, Yelp and Twitter icons in your footer point at facebook.com, instagram.com, yelp.com and twitter.com. Not at your pages. Anyone who clicks one lands on a homepage and leaves.

4
Dead icons
How to fix itReplace each with the full address of your actual profile. Two minutes in whoever manages the site.
9

You have no structured data anywhere on the site.

Structured data is a small block of code that states your hours, phone number, service area and rating in a form Google reads directly. Every page I checked has none.

0
Structured data blocks
How to fix itAdd a LocalBusiness block with one name, one phone number, your hours and your service areas. It is one snippet in the page head and it reinforces every fix above.
10

Google cannot find a list of your pages.

Your robots.txt has no Sitemap line, /sitemap.xml returns a server error, and /sitemap_index.xml returns the booking app instead of a sitemap. Nothing on the site tells Google what pages exist.

0
Working sitemaps
How to fix itAsk BookingKoala support to enable an XML sitemap, then add one line to robots.txt pointing at it.
11

Your profile is closed on Saturday.

Your Google hours are Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Several competitors ranking above you are open Saturday. Saturday is when people book house cleaning, and Google will not show a closed business as readily as an open one.

0
Weekend hours
How to fix itIf you take Saturday work, put Saturday hours on the profile. If you do not, this one is fine as it is.
12

You mention one city, and you say you serve four.

Roanoke appears 8 times on your homepage. Salem, Vinton, Blacksburg, Botetourt, Cave Spring and Hollins appear zero times each, and your own footer claims Lynchburg and Richmond. There is no page on the site for any city.

1
City named on the site
How to fix itName the towns you actually cover in your homepage copy. A separate page per town is the fuller version, but just naming them is the free half of the fix.

Where Google says you already pass

This is the good news, and it is worth saying plainly. Google scored your homepage 100 out of 100 for SEO and 100 for best practices. Every one of these checks passed:

  • Page is not blocked from indexing
  • Document has a title element
  • Document has a meta description
  • Page returns a successful HTTP status
  • Links have descriptive text
  • Links are crawlable

Google does not automatically check structured data, so a perfect SEO score here does not mean you have it. You do not, and that is finding seven.

The two accessibility failures

IssueHow many
Background and foreground colors do not have enough contrast14 elements
Heading elements are not in a sequentially descending order7 elements

Accessibility scored 94 out of 100, so this is a short list. The heading order one matters for search as well as for screen readers, which is why it is in the findings above.

The technical checks

Some of this is genuinely good. Your homepage title, headings and image alt text are all fine.

Read in a browser on 2026-09-09. Your site sits behind Cloudflare and refuses automated requests, so all of this was read the way a visitor sees it. Speed values are a single Google PageSpeed Insights mobile run on the homepage, not a median and not field data from real visitors.
